If you need a quick fix for a home-made gift whether it be for Mother’s Day, birthdays or Valentines Day, you can’t go wrong with some classic chocolate truffles. We’ve rolled ours in pistachios and cocoa powder but you could mix it up with desiccated coconut, sprinkles or freeze dried fruit. With only three main ingredients it doesn’t get easier than this!
Ingredients
100g Dark Chocolate
100g Milk Chocolate
150ml Double Cream
For the toppings
50g Pistachios
5 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
Method
Gently heat the double cream in a pan
Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate, keep stirring until all the chocolate is melted
Pour the mixture into a bowl and chill in the fridge until firm
Meanwhile crush your pistachios into fine pieces in a pestle and mortar or a food processor
Prepare a tray with baking parchment and two plates with the cocoa powder and pistachios
Using two teaspoons or a melon baller scoop out small balls and roll them quickly in your hands to get a smooth ball, then roll each ball in either the cocoa powder or pistachios and place onto the baking parchment.
Chill the tray of truffles in the fridge for half an hour to firm up then package up ready to gift to your nearest and dearest!
For perfect heat control while making your chocolate truffles we recommend opting for an induction hob, not only have these got excellent heat control they are also easy to clean and more energy efficient than their gas or electric counter parts as the heat is directed straight to the pan rather than radiating out.
If you need your truffles to be ready a little faster you can put the mix into the freezer for half an hour instead of the fridge, fridge freezers with fast freeze are perfect for this.
